OPONEO: successful first half of the year for the leader of tyres sales

The OPONEO Group recorded a 29% increase in sales, which after the first half of 2014 was at the level of 143 million PLN. EBITDA amounted to 5.2 million PLN and increased by 34%. The Group generated a significantly higher net profit in the amount of 2.1 million PLN.

The higher income is a result of a 22% increase in orders which the OPONEO Group had on all markets. The sales volume of tyres for passenger cars, which constituted 93% of sales in the first half of this year, increased by 23%.

The revenues from national orders, which constitute 75% of all revenues, increased by 20% y-o-y, and the foreign revenues, whose share increased from 19% in 2013 to 24%, increased by 66%.

- The number of orders on 11 foreign markets increased by 35% in total, and the majority of foreign orders were completed for customers from Great Britain, Italy and the Netherlands – informs Dariusz Topolewski, the President of the Management Board of OPONEO.PL S.A. – Increases on the foreign markets are significant due to the higher margin we generate there – he adds.

After the first two quarters of this year, the Group generated EBITDA of 5.2 million PLN, which means an increase by 34%. The EBITDA margin was 4.24%, while the margin from the first half of 2013 was 3.52%.

The consolidated gross profit from the operating cash flow increased by 1.7 million PLN y-o-y and amounted to 1.9 million PLN.

OPONEO obtained a 2.1 million net profit, while in the last year the Group experienced a loss of -1.2 million PLN. The second quarter itself, which brought a profit of 2.1 million PLN, increased by 945% in comparison to the corresponding period of the last year.

The net sales profit margin also improved (+1.3 percentage point) due to the settlement of after sales bonuses and the higher margin on sales of products.

The company also informed, a couple of days ago, that it plans to launch sales on a new market – in Belgium in October this year. Let us remind that in May this year the company started a Slovak version of the online store with tyres and wheels.
